Single Wedding Ring quilt block

Single Wedding Ring
May 6, 1933-Nancy Cabot wrote "Relatively new is the "Single Wedding Ring" quilt pattern, but nevertheless a favorite.  Its simplicity of design and color scheme, its charm and its plain needlework make it so."  Those two sentences were her whole column in the Chicago Tribune eighty years ago.

She republished this same pattern in her September 5, 1934 column according to this old pattern.  I verified that Nancy did indeed publish it again on that day!  I don't believe the pattern shown in the link above to be a Nancy Cabot pattern as all the ones I've seen have what she wrote in her column printed right on the pattern.

This is another easy block to make.  Again, I used paper piecing for speed and accuracy.  These are the parts-

Notice the same pieced triangle corners as yesterday's pattern?  You can get my pattern here. It can also be found in BlockBase as #1806a.

There's a free Single Wedding Ring pattern available for this 45"X45"quilt at Quilt-it...today and you can read more about it at Sharon Holland designs.

To read a little history on Wedding Ring quilts, go here.  It was published as Wedding Ring as far back as 1887!  An old Wedding Ring pattern from the Ladies Art Co. can be seen here.

Here are some links to antique quilts made from the Single Wedding Ring quilt block-
